The E-M12DVR-HD is a 720P HD covert camera disguised as a coffee-cup lid. It integrates a recorder, rechargeable battery and hi-sensitive audio microphone. Ideal for covert mobile surveillance applications, it is able to fit most standard coffee cups. The camera compartment is hidden from view even if the lid is removed.

INTRODUCTION
The E-M24DVR is an embedded device featuring an ARM9 processor and linux operating system. Designed for rugged vehicle or body-worn applications, the unit is fully solid-state and records to a removable compact flash card. Video encoding is done through MPEG-4/2 video hardware encoding and a vibration/alarm circuit is able to provide feedback to the user.
MPEG-2 OR MPEG-4 VIDEO ENCODING
Users can select between two methods of video encoding. MPEG-2 is a standard for generic coding of video and audio. It is widely used in consumer electronics, such as DVD video disc, DVD player, DVB television broadcasting etc. The Micro Pocket DVR can record in MPEG-2 format which can be edited by any video editing software or replayed by a DVD player. MPEG-4 provides better video quality and a higher compression rate than MPEG-2. Many DVD players can play MPEG-4 DivX files directly. Motion detection for the device is only supported in the MPEG-4 mode.
AUDIO
The E-M24DVR features an integrated audio microphone. Users can also disable this and connect either a line-input audio source or an external microphone. Various gain settings can be adjusted to suit the audio quality.
DVR CONTROL
Various methods can be used for controlling the unit, these include an IR remote control, a one-action record button and LAN-C remote control. The OSD menu allows full control of the DVR. Another OSD function is that of video overlay. Users can customise the video overlay onto the video through the software interface and add comments or labels for video recordings.

POWER
The DVR features an integrated lithium-ion battery which can power the unit for upto 2 and half hours. Alternatively it can be powered from an external 12VDC supply. Power is also supplied to the camera from the DVR. Users can select to power 5VDC or 12VDC cameras.
GPS RECEIVER
A special new feature built-into the E-M24DVR is a GPS receiver. This allows the recorder to store infomation regarding the unit’s position when the video/audio was recorded. The software allows playback of this.
CLIENT PC SOFTWARE
A software application is provided with each DVR which can be used to configure all DVR settings and upload files to the PC. Users can either connect via the ethernet port on the unit or by removing the CF card and placing this in a CF card reader connected to the PC. Time synchronisation is also done via this software.
